About Me

Anton Maksimov

I'm broadly interested in how the technologies work and untlimately - the world. Previously being immersed into maths, physics and biology, now I explore machine learning and artificial intelligence as a whole, not forgetting also to expose myself to music and long-waiting humanities (philosophy, sociology, psychology, ...).

Projects

Master thesis "Hyperbolic Heterogeneous Graph Neural Networks" in D3Slab of ETH Zurich (prof. Ce Zhang)

Explored ways for constructing Graph Neural Networks to work with the graph data having multiple node/relation types while using advantages of the embeddings into hyperbolic space. Grade 5.5/6.

Semester thesis "Hierarchical Variational Inference for Federated Learning" in Information Science and Engineering Laboratory, ETH Zurich, 2020

Implemented hierarchical Bayesian network on TensorFlow labeling handwritten digits using group-wise similarity

Seminar in Robotics for CSE "GPU-based feature matching", Sevensense Robotics AG and Autonomous Systems Laboratory, ETH Zurich, 2020

Implemented and analyzed GPU-based feature matching (80x faster than CPU). Literature review on the modern approaches for describing and matching images in computer vision.

Team project "Deep Learning-based Recommendation Systems" for the course "Deep Learning", 2019

Analyzed and compared different approaches to modern recommendation systems. My part was based on Graph Neural Network.

Team project "Waterboat" for the course "Physically-based Simulation", 2019

Physically-credible efficiently optimized on C++ simulation of the boat floating on water waves.

Bachelor thesis "Pipeline for search of off-target ligand connections", 2019

Designed flexible pipeline of search of the most similar input biological ligands/targets/complexes in various databases.

Summer internship at ETH Zurich "Big microscopic data compression", 2017

Research of data compression for 3D temporal images of fish embryo development.

Linux- and C-based server, 2016

Server-client architecture where server performs Cron and parallel gzip operations on clients' requests

3D-shooter for the course "Computer Science", 2015

Running in randomly generated labyrinth with stalking huge scary snowmen to be killed by throwing snowballs
